Installation And Basic
Configuration
Installation is simple just unzip the installer from the
downloaded file, double click on the installer and follow the on
screen instructions selecting LANOff or LANOff Slave as required
(when selected, shortcuts are installed for all users). As well
as installing the program this will also install the help pages.
LANOff can be installed over previous installations but
it will need re-configuring if the configuration file is overwritten
or if the version being upgraded is lower than version 3.0. The existing configuration file will be
copied to LANOff.old. Start
the program and enter the registration code to start using LANOff, LANOff Slave does not need a registration code.

details of the parameters that can be set. If the program will
not work properly check out the FAQ for
suggestions. The program can only be installed and configured by
a user with administrative privileges. Installing LANOff Slave
to the same location as LANOff is not permitted. The LANOff Slave
will not start minimised until it is configured.
Multiple Instances And Installations
It is only possible to run one instance of LANOff or LANOff
Slave at a time. LANOff and LANOff Slave can not be run at the
same time on one computer. LANOff and LANOff Slave can not exist
on the same computer unless they are installed in different locations.
If LANOff is in shutdown mode when an attempt to start a second
instance occurs the error message will open beneath the first program
window which will take priority.
Security
If remote shutdown is used this program may compromise network security, this
depends on the network and any firewall configuration. You will need appropriate
access privileges to the remote computer to use the slave program.
Uninstalling LANOff
To uninstall AllOff use Windows Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. If you wish to retain any files copy them to a temporary location before uninstalling. All program files and directories in the program root directory (normally c:\program files\JSutils\LANOff\) are removed including those created by the program.
