LanOff is part of the JSutils group of software utilities which have a theme of energy conservation. To find more energy and money saving ideas check out Practical Home Energy Saving .

The program operates by interrogating each remote computer via a small slave program twice a second. Up to four remote computers can be monitored or controlled with shutdown being initiated when connection to all computers is lost. Uses of LANOff include monitoring up to four computers connected to a server shutting down the server when it is no longer needed or shutting down up to four computers connected to a server when the server shuts down. It can be started via the Windows Task Scheduler, on start up or manually.

The program requires a registration code to run - this can be obtained free for personal non commercial use from the download page. Registration codes from previous versions are compatible with version 5.2. The LANOff Slave does not need a registration code. For commercial licencing please click here.
