What Are The Advantages Of LANOff?
LANOff can be used to monitor network connectivity between up to five computers allowing a combination of computers to control the others. You can define when the functions are activated and get the opportunity to cancel shutdown on individual computers. There is flexibility in the timing including fixed activation and shutdown times. An open program will not stop computer shutdown. A readily accessible history of use is available. It can apply to all users making configuration easy and consistent.

Which Operating Systems Does LANOff Support?
LANOff is designed to work on WIndows 2000 Service Pack 4, Windows XP including Service Packs 1, 2 and 3, WIndows Vista including Service Packs 1 and 2 and Windows 7 including Service Pack 1. Windows NT, 95, 98 & ME are NOT supported.

Does LANOff Work On Both 32bit And 64 bit Operating Systems?
LANOff is a 32 bit executable that is compatible with both 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems.

Are There Any Issues Using LANOff on WIndows Vista And Windows 7 With User Account Control Turned On?
There are no known issues when UAC is enabled on Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Can LANOff Be Installed Over An Existing Version?
Yes, there are no known problems installing over the top of an existing installation from version 3 onwards. You will be given the opportunity to either keep or discard the configuration file when upgrading. The existing configuration file will be copied to LANOffM.old for the main program and LANOffS.old for the slave program. The configuration files from versions prior to version 3.0 are not compatible with version 3.0 and above, after upgrading from a version prior to 3.0 the main and slave programs will need configuring. The only exception is when downgrading to an earlier version of the program, in this case uninstall the old program first.

Are The Main and Slave From Previous Versions Compatible With This Version Main And Slave Programs?
Versions prior to version 3.1 are incompatible because the data sent and received between them is in a different format. The main and slave programs should always be upgraded at the same time.

Are The Slave Programs From AllOff, CPUOff, DownOff, KeyOff And ProcOff Compatible With LANOff?
No they are incompatible because the data sent by each program uses program specific addressing.

Can LANOff Be Used On A System Running A DHCP Server?
Yes provided you use the computer names or if you use LANOff with IP addresses the computers with LANOff Master or LANOff Slave installed must have the IP addresses set to fixed on the DHCP server.

Why Does LANOff Stop Without Shutting Down The Local Computer?
This could be caused by a firewall or anti virus program blocking the operation of LANOff in which case add LANOff to the list of acceptable programs.

Why Does LANOff Stop Without Shutting Down The Remote Computer?
This could be caused by a firewall or anti virus program blocking the operation of the LANOff Slave or communications with LANOff Slave on the local or remote computer in which case add LANOff to the list of acceptable programs on the remote and or local computer.

Why Does The Computer Hibernate Before The Time Set In LANOff?
This is usually because the computer is set to hibernate in the operating system - check Power Options from the control panel.

Why Does The Computer Go Into Standby Before Before LANOff Can Operate?
