EnCalcGU uses the following formulae to calculate the results:

Actual Results

Days	=	Date 2 - Date 1
Number Quarters ⁽¹⁾	=	Number of complete and quarters between Date 1 and Date 2 OR Number Of complete and part months between Date 1 And Date 2
Number Months	=	The number of complete and partial months between Date 1 and Date 2
Units Used ⁽²⁾	=	( Meter Reading 2 - Meter Reading 1 )
KWHrs Used ^(3,4)	=	( Units Used * Correction Factor * Calorific Value * Conversion Factor) / 3.6
Rate 1 KWHrs ^(5,7)	=	The lower value of: KWHr Used and (Rate 1/2 Break Point * Number Quarters in Date 1 To Date 2 )
Rate 2 KWHrs	=	KWHr Used - Rate 1 KWHr
Rate 1 Cost	=	Rate 1 KWHr * Rate 1 Unit Cost
Rate 2 Cost	=	Rate 2 KWHr * Rate 2 Unit Cost
Total Fixed Charge ⁽⁷⁾	=	Fixed Charge * Number Quarters or Months in Date 1 To Date 2
Total Discount 1 ⁽⁸⁾	=	FIxed Amount: Discount 1 * ( Number Quarters or Months) Percentage: ( Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost + Total Fixed Charge 1 ) * ( Discount 1 % / 100 )
Total VAT ⁽⁶⁾	=	( Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost + Cheap rate Cost +Total Fixed Charge 1 -Total Discount 1 ) * ( VAT% / 100 )
Total Discount 2 ⁽⁷⁾	=	Period: Discount 2 * Number of Periods Fixed: Discount 2
Total Cost ⁽⁷⁾	=	Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost + Cheap rate Cost +Total Fixed Charge 1 -Total Discount 1 + Total VAT - Total Discount 2
Cost per Day	=	Total Cost (inc VAT) / Days
KWHrs per Day	=	KWHrs Used / ( Number Days between Date 2 and Date 1 )
CO2 Generated (Kg)	=	(Total of Units Used) * CO2 Conversion Factor

2. Works in whole units, any decimals entered will be rounded.
3. Conversion Factor is 1 for cubic metres and 2.8 for 100;s of cubic feet (old style UK meters).
4. The Volume Conversion Factor is also known as the Correction Factor
5. If the Break Point = 0 then Rate 1 KWHr = KWHr Used.
6. If the currency selected is not UK Pounds (£) or Euros ( €) then VAT is changed to TAX.
7. Quarters or Months depends on whether the Monthly checkbox is ticked.
8. Discount 1 can be either a fixed amount or a percentage of the cost before TAX/V.AT

Predicted Results

Predicted Days	=	Date 1 + No Quarters To Predict Forward (This can be less than Actual Days)
Units Used	=	( ( Meter Reading 2 - Meter Reading 1 ) * Predicted Days ) / Actual Days
Rate 1 KWHrs ⁽⁷⁾	=	( The lower value of : KWHr Used and ( Rate 1/2 Break Point KWHr * ( Number Predicted Quarters or Months )
Rate 2 KWHr	=	KWHr Used - Rate 1 KWHr
Rate 1 Cost	=	Rate 1 KWHr * Rate 1 Unit Cost
Rate 2 Cost	=	Rate 2 KWHr * Rate 2 Unit Cost
Fixed Charge Total ⁽⁷⁾	=	Fixed Charge * ( Number Predicted Quarters or Months )
Total Discount 1 ⁽⁷⁾	=	Discount 1 * ( Number Predicted Quarters or Months)
Total VAT ⁽⁶⁾	=	FIxed Amount: Discount 1 * ( Number Quarters or Months) Percentage: ( Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost +Total Fixed Charge ) * ( Discount 1 % / 100 )
Total Discount 2 ⁽⁷⁾	=	Fixed Amount: Discount 2 * ( NumberPredicted Quarters or Months) One Off Discount: Discount 2
