EnCalcEU uses the following formulae to calculate the results:

Actual Results

Days	=	Date 2 - Date 1
Number Quarters (1)	=	Int ( ( ( Number Days Between Date 1 And Date 2 ) - 10 ) / ( 365 / 4 ) ) + 1
Normal Rate Units	=	Normal Rate Reading 2 - Normal Rate Reading 1
Cheap Rate Units	=	Cheap Rate Reading 2 - Cheap Rate Reading 1
Normal Rate 1 Units (2, 3)	=	Fixed Break Point: The lower value of: Normal Rate Units and ( Normal Rate 1/2 Break Point * Number Quarters in Date 1 To Date 2 ) Fixed Break Point per Day: The lower value of: Normal Rate Units and ( Rate/Day * Days )
Normal Rate 2 Units	=	Normal Rate Units - Normal Rate 1 Units
Normal Rate 1 Cost	=	Normal Rate 1 Units * Normal Rate 1 Unit Cost
Normal Rate 2 Cost	=	Normal Rate 2 Units * Normal Rate 2 Unit Cost
Cheap Rate Cost	=	Cheap Rate Units * Cheap Rate Unit Cost
Total Fixed Charge	=	Fixed Charge * Number Quarters
Total Cost	=	Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost + Cheap Rate Cost + Total Fixed Charge - ( Discount 1 * Number Quarters )
Total Cost (inc VAT) (4)	=	( Total Cost * ( 1 + VAT% ) / 100 ) - ( Discount 2 * Number Quarters )
Cost per Day (5)	=	Total Cost (inc VAT) / Days
CO2 Generated (Kg)	=	(Total Number Of Normal Rate and Cheap Rate Units Used) * CO2 Conversion Factor

2. The calculation method for Normal Rate 1 Units depends on the type of Rate 2 calculation chosen.
3. The Break Point per Day is rounded down to the nearest integer.
4. If the currency selected is not UK Pounds (£) or Euros ( €) then VAT is changed to Tax.

Predicted Results

Predicted Days	=	Date 1 + No Quarters To Predict Forward (This can be less than Actual Days)
Normal Rate Units	=	( ( Normal Rate Reading 2 - Normal Rate Reading 1 ) * Predicted Days ) / Actual Days
Cheap Rate Units	=	( ( Cheap Rate Reading 2 - Cheap Rate Reading 1 ) * Predicted Days ) / Actual Days
Normal Rate 1 Units	=	Fixed Break Point: The lower value of Normal Rate Units and ( Normal Rate 1/2 Break Point * Number Predicted Quarters ) Fixed Break Point per Day: The lower value of Normal Rate Units and ( Rate/Day * Number Predicted Days )
Normal Rate 2 Units	=	Normal Rate Units - Normal Rate 1 Units
Normal Rate 1 Cost	=	Normal Rate 1 Units * Normal Rate 1 Unit Cost
Normal Rate 2 Cost	=	Normal Rate 2 Units * Normal Rate 2 Unit Cost
Cheap Rate Cost	=	Cheap Rate Units * Cheap Rate Unit Cost
Total Fixed Charge	=	( Fixed Charge ) * Number Predicted Quarters
Total Cost	=	Normal Rate 1 Cost + Normal Rate 2 Cost + Cheap Rate Cost + Total Fixed Charge - ( Discount 1 * Number Predicted Quarters )
