What Are The Advantages Of CPUOff?
CPUOff can be used to monitor processor intensive processes such as backup programs. You can define when the functions are activated and get the opportunity to cancel shutdown. There is flexibility in the timing. CPUOff can also shut down one remote computer at the same time. An open program will not stop computer shut down. A readily accessible history of use is available. It can apply to all users making configuration easy and consistent.

Can Remote Shutdown Be Used On A System Running A DHCP Server?
Yes provided you use the computer names but if you use CPUOff with IP addresses the computers with CPUOff or CPUOff Slave installed must have the IP addresses set to fixed on the DHCP server. This point only applies if the slave program is used.

Does CPUOff Work On Both 32bit And 64 bit Operating Systems?
CPUOff is designed to work on WIndows 2000 Service Pack 4 (32bit), Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Service Pack 1 (32 and 64 bit), Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition Release 2 Service Pack 1 (32bit and 64 bit), Windows XP (32bit), Windows XP (32bit) SP1 2 & 3, WIndows Vista - all variants (32bit and 64 bit), WIndows Vista SP1 - all variants (32bit and 64 bit). Windows NT, 95, 98 & ME are NOT supported.

Are There Any Issues Using EnCalcE on WIndows Vista With User Account Control Turned On?
There are no known issues when UAC is enabled on Vista.

Can CPUOff Be Installed Over An Existing Version?
Yes, there are no known problems installing over the top of an existing installation. You will be given the opportunity to either keep or discard the configuration when upgrading. The existing configuration file will be copied to CPUOff.old. The program will need to be reconfigured after upgrading from version 3.5 or earlier. If a remote computer is controlled you will also need to upgrade the CPUOff Slave program on the remote computer. The only exception is when downgrading to an earlier version of the program, in this case uninstall the old program first.

Can CPUOff Slave Be Used With Versions Of CPUOff Prior To Version 4.0?
No, Version 4.0 and later are incompatible with all previous versions. It is always advisable to upgrade the main program and the slave at the same time.

Why Does CPUOff Stop Without Shutting Down The Local Computer?
This could be caused by a firewall program blocking the operation of CPUOff in which case add CPUOff to the list of acceptable programs.

Why Does The Computer Hibernate Before The Time Set In CPUOff?
This is usually because the computer is set to hibernate in the operating system - check Power Options from the control panel.

Why Does The Computer Go Into Standby Before Before CPUOff Can Operate?
This is usually because the computer is set to go to Standby in the operating system - check Power Options from the control panel.

Why Does CPUOff Stop Without Shutting Down The Remote Computer?
This could be caused by a firewall program blocking the operation of the CPUOff Slave or communications with CPUOff on the local or remote computer in which case add CPUOff to the list of acceptable programs on the remote and or local computer.

Are The Slave Programs From AllOff, DownOff, KeyOff And LANOff Compatible With CPUOff?
No they are incompatible because the data sent uses program specific addressing.

How Much Network Bandwidth Does Communications To The Slave Use?
Very little - approximately 4KB/Sec.

How Much Memory Does The Program Use?
This is dependent on the operating system and program state but will be between 1.2MB and 4MB.
