This program is no longer being maintained.

Below is a screen shot of the configuration screen showing the various parameters that can be set. By default the program runs in the System Tray, to access the configuration file double click on the tray icon and then click the Configure button from the main screen. Hovering over the various fields will display the tool tips with extra information. Errors will be flagged by a status message at the bottom of the screen when Save is clicked and the parameter(s) involved will also be highlighted. Any errors must be fixed before new data can be saved. The configuration screen for the CPUOff Slave is similar except that CPU Averaging and CPU Threshold can not be changed. When the configuration screen is opened program operation is inhibited until it is closed when the program will be reset if any parameter changes have been saved. Communications to the Slave are not inhibited while the configuration screen is open. Saving configuration changes needs administrator privileges. The configuration file can be found in the data directory of the main program (usually c:\program files\JSutils\CPUOff\Data).

The Log Level can be set to None, Normal or Full. If the log file path is changed the path must end with '\'.The alternate log path must be created manually and the permissions set to suit the required operation if it does not already exist before running the program. If the log level is set to Full configuration details are written to the log file when the configuration screen is closed if any changes have been saved, in addition configuration details are written to the log file each time the program starts.

Monitor Mode can only be used on the main program when CPUOff is used to control a remote computer. It can not be used on CPUOff Slave.

When using the remote slave you can use either an IP address or if the domain name check box is ticked a fully qualified domain name (on systems without a Directory Name Server you can also use the computer name). Only change the communications port if the program gives an error message indicating a clash with another program, if you do this remember to change both main and slave programs to the same port.

The configuration screen will timeout after 600 seconds if left open, there is a warning message 90 seconds before closure which appears at the top of the screen and counts down before this happens.
